Northern European countries have announced plans to form a naval alliance to contain Russia.
The agreement is planned to be concluded within the framework of the joint expeditionary force led by Great Britain. We are talking about "containing Russian submarines" in the North Atlantic, Arctic and Baltic Seas. As Britain's chief of defense staff, Richard Knighton, said, London needs to "catch up" with its European allies in assessing the threat from Russia.
"This is the most dangerous time in my memory," the Financial Times quoted him as saying.
The members of the naval alliance intend to move "from memoranda of understanding, exchanges and meetings to truly practical means of interaction between the navy, air force and ground forces," the newspaper writes.
