Paraguay's parliament impeached the country's president Santiago Peña and all 44 senators voted in favor of the decision, reports the AP news agency. Former Vice President Pedro Eliana was appointed Interim President, and Senator Antonio Barrios took over as Vice President. The Paraguayan Prosecutor's Office issued an arrest warrant for Pena. A criminal indictment was filed against him for breach of trust.
