Institutions of the secondary vocational education system appeared in the Murmansk region, Nizhny Novgorod and Saransk. Minister of Education Sergey Krabtsov reported at the meeting. He stated that the secondary vocational education system meets the growing demands of people in terms of modern training and employment in working professions. The head of the department clarified that this year 63% of the 9th grade graduates and 12% of those who finished the 11th grade entered the college. Krabtsov added that enrollment in colleges has increased from 900,000 to 1.4 million people in recent years.
