Vladimir Putin laid flowers at the monument to Minin and Pozharsky on the day of national unity. The ceremony was attended by representatives of religious denominations, as well as members of public and youth organizations, together with the president. Among them are the "Victory Volunteers", members of the Youth Army and departments of the "Defenders of the Homeland" fund. This holiday is celebrated in Russia every year on November 4. It is dedicated to the significant historical event of 1612, when a national militia liberated Moscow from the Polish invaders and put an end to the Troubles.
