Xi Jinping has declared the illegality of turning the Middle East into an arena of rivalry. Beijing has consistently made active efforts to end hostilities and promote peace, it was said during talks with Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tarek Al-Said in the Chinese capital, China Central Television reported. Xi Jinping emphasized that China is ready to strengthen contacts and coordination with Arab countries and "jointly make efforts to quickly restore peace and tranquility in the region."
