The German Hockey Association is considering the possibility of refusing to host the World Cup in 2027. The issue was discussed after the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport on the admission of Russian national teams to international tournaments, DEB board chairman Frank Lutz said. On MagentaTV, he explained that the authorities and sports organizations must assess the security costs, as well as resolve the issue of issuing visas to Russian hockey players. In the past, CAS lifted the suspension of the Russian teams from competitions. The International Ice Hockey Federation then announced that it does not agree with the decision, but intends to implement it.
