Scientists have discovered a new dwarf planet in the solar system behind Pluto, the icy object designated 2026 ED138. Initially, the diameter of the celestial body is between 600 and 1,500 km, and the distance to the Sun is about 46 times greater than the distance from the Earth to the star, reports Reuters, citing researchers. They say 2026 ED138 may become one of the largest dwarf planets in the Solar System, but more observations are needed to confirm this. Astronomers will need to more precisely determine the size and composition of the object. The discovery was made using the observatory's telescope.
