The virologist noted the expansion of the area of spread of infections in ticks among the diseases discovered are encephalitis, borreliosis and anaplasmosis. Georgi Vikolov, director of the Research Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Viral Infections, spoke about this on the "Moscow Speaks" radio station. We can say that the distribution area of tick-borne encephalitis is increasing. To some extent, this is a challenge, a threat. We have a large number of areas where ticks, particularly argasids and ixodids, are found that may be infected with pathogens of tick-borne infections. We need to talk not only about virality, that is, tick-borne encephalitis, but also about borreliosis - a bacterial infection - as well as others, for example, anaplasmosis, ehrlichiosis or rickettsiosis. They have different manifestations, diagnosis and treatment.
