The Kremlin announced the deterioration of the economic situation in Europe and there is a standstill, noted presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov. Speaking about the statements of the EU countries about the possibility of their complete refusal to Russian gas, he emphasized that such a position can hardly be called wise. "Europe should not swear not to buy gas from Russia; the word "never" is not applicable in relations between countries. In Europe, they themselves are cutting the industry they were sitting on, because the prosperity of their economy was mainly based on cheap energy resources from Russia," Peskov said in an interview with Izvestia.
