The Ministry for Digital Development plans to introduce restrictions on the consumption of foreign Internet traffic. The initiative is being discussed as part of the reform in the communications industry, writes Forbes. However, the final decision has not yet been made, the publication said. It is assumed that traffic from foreign domains will pass through technical means to prevent threats, and the agency will have the right to set limits on the volume of data transferred. Experts warned that it is technically difficult to separate foreign traffic from Russian traffic. Restrictions may affect not only VPN services, but also operating system updates, applications and online games.
