The European Union announced the possibility of appointing several negotiators for the dialogue with the Russian Federation. This issue was discussed in the Council of the European Union. "The positions of the member states of the association are very different: some remain skeptical about the very principle of negotiations, while others, especially Slovakia, aim to normalize bilateral relations with Russia as much as possible," said the member of the European Parliament from Luxembourg Fernand Kartheiser in a comment to Izvestia. He noted that in the current circumstances, appointing more than one negotiator could better reflect the diversity of views within the EU.
