The French authorities intend to block social networks for calls for unrest, writes the newspaper "Le Figaro". The parliament will consider a parallel amendment to the bill to combat pogroms. Internet platforms will be required to remove within an hour materials containing calls for terrorist attacks, rebellion or armed struggle against the state or certain groups in the population. If the requirement is not met, the authorities can request the blocking of social networks or their removal from the search results. The amendment also provides for the expansion of the powers of the Paros state platform, which identifies illegal content on the Internet. The social networks are asked to give 24 hours to remove posts calling for murder, violence, theft and destruction of property if such materials could lead to a serious disturbance of public order.
