America is establishing a new operations group to control the transfer of weapons from the borders of Iran and the Caspian Sea.

The US military's Central Command, CENTCOM, announced that it is establishing a new task force to prevent the transfer of advanced weapons, dual-use technologies and other items subject to sanctions through Iran's land borders and the Caspian Sea.

CENTCOM announced on Saturday, November 7 that this operation group called "Iron Gate" will be established under the command of Admiral Brad Cooper, the commander of this organization, will include about 20 military and civilian members and will be based in Tampa, Florida.

According to this statement, this group will cooperate with other American government institutions and dealing with the ways of making illegal money will be one of its tasks. Brad Cooper described the establishment of this group as an action to strengthen the results of the Iranian naval blockade and said that CENTCOM's broader cooperation with other US government institutions would limit the Iranian government's ability to "finance assassinations, rebuild weapons factories and modernize military capabilities."

Centcom did not explain in its announcement how the new operations group is supposed to limit the transfer of objects subject to sanctions from the land borders and the Caspian Sea, and whether or not the execution of this task will require the cooperation of Iran's neighboring countries.

This decision is a continuation of the naval blockade of southern Iranian ports by the US, which was implemented in two stages after the start of the war between the two countries, and Washington says that it severely limited the Islamic Republic's oil exports and sources of income.

🔸 The first phase of the naval blockade of Iran's ports began on April 13. This siege lasted until June 18 and was lifted after both sides reached the Islamabad Memorandum. Read the full version of this report on the Radio Farda website.
