The New York Times reported on Thursday, Nov. 5, citing five sources familiar with the matter, that Iran is considering a set of "clear and specific" proposals presented by mediators for a deal with the U.S. that the newspaper said "could determine the future of that country's nuclear program."
🔸 Sources on the side who spoke to the "New York Times" said that Iran's desire to renew the nuclear negotiations, after weeks of resistance and inflexibility in this area, shows that the latest mediation efforts led by Qatar in order to prevent a return to full-scale war have been partially successful.
The New York Times did not release the names of these officials, but said one of them was American and two were Iranian. They referred to the conditions under review as "specific proposals," but did not provide further details. In recent days, Qatari officials have traveled to Tehran at least twice to reach an agreement between Iran and the US, and Iran's Foreign Ministry has also confirmed that Deputy Abbas Iraqichi traveled to Qatar to continue the talks.
