The President of Poland accused the Prime Minister of "forcible seizure" of the Constitutional Court.

Polish President Karol Nowrocki, following the suspension of the president of the country's constitutional court by allies of Prime Minister Donald Tusk, accused his government of a "forced seizure" of the top judicial body responsible for overseeing the constitution.

On Saturday, October 31, in a statement that one of his assistants read in front of the court building, Navrotsky said: "Last night public order in the Republic of Poland was violated and a constitutional institution was seized by force."

These statements were made after Poland's Constitutional Court announced on Friday evening that Anna Corwin-Piotrewska, the institution's oldest judge, had suspended Bogdan Swiczkowski, the court's president and one of the appointees of the former nationalist government, and had taken over the administration of the court.

Navrotsky, who is an ally of the nationalist Law and Justice party, left his trip to Senegal half-finished and returned to Poland after learning of this development. After returning, he went directly to the courthouse; A place where hundreds of demonstrators in the presence of anti-riot police forces demanded the return of the suspended head of the court to his post.

🔸 In a video published by Maci Baric, one of the judges appointed to the Constitutional Court and one of Donald Tusk's allies, on social networks, you can see the President of Poland Karol Nowrowski and his entourage enter the court building, bypassing the people who prevented them from entering. Anna Corwin-Piotrowska, the judge who ordered the president's suspension, is also among these people.
