The American Secretary of State: Trump has not yet decided on the renewal of attacks on Iran.

The American Secretary of State says that Donald Trump has not yet made a decision regarding the resumption of military operations against Iran and that Washington is still ready to reach a diplomatic solution.

On Saturday, November 9, Marco Rubio said at a press conference on the sidelines of the G20 foreign ministers' meeting in Atlanta that he did not know if a specific timetable had been set for negotiations mediated by Qatar to end the confrontations between Iran and the United States.

He emphasized that the talks between the two sides never stopped completely and active contacts were conducted, sometimes directly and mostly through intermediaries.

The US Secretary of State said that Donald Trump's preference is to resolve disputes through diplomatic and peaceful means, although according to him, some of the world's problems cannot be solved that way. Rubio added: "If there is a diplomatic solution, we welcome it, but it is clear that such a solution should not endanger our national security or ignore our basic concerns that led us to this conflict in the first place."

He called the Islamic Republic's attempt to obtain nuclear weapons one of Washington's main concerns and said the Trump administration would never allow Iran to obtain such a weapon.

These statements are made while Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Irakchi, announced on Saturday in an interview with Al Jazeera that Tehran does not see the need to meet with American officials for now and will decide on direct or indirect negotiations only after Washington agrees to the terms of the Islamic Republic.
