The American website Axios announced in an exclusive report that Qatari mediators announced "positive progress" in efforts to reach an agreement between Iran and the US after "more than 12 hours" of negotiations in Tehran, and talks are set to continue in Doha on Saturday.

On the morning of Saturday, November 9, Axios reported, citing diplomatic sources, that on Friday negotiations were held in Tehran with the aim of reaching an agreement to resume direct talks between Washington and Tehran and to prevent the start of a new round of US military attacks after the country's midterm elections.

A diplomatic source also said Qatari mediators were in regular contact with the White House during Friday's negotiations, adding: "There has been positive progress. "Negotiations are still ongoing to pave the way for an agreement between America and Iran." The Axios reporter also wrote in the announcement that the Qatari negotiators left Tehran on Friday together with the Iranian negotiators for Doha, so that the talks will continue on Saturday in the Qatari capital.
