A number of young people in various cities in Iran, including Tehran, Shiraz and Shahid, went to welcome "Halloween" on the evening of Thursday, November 7. The photos posted on social media show groups of young people celebrating Halloween in Iran by wearing special clothes and makeup. They were preparing for "Halloween" a few days ago, while reports indicate that any celebration or gathering on the occasion of "Halloween" is prohibited in Iran. The Chamber of Guilds of Iran banned any celebration or gathering on the occasion of "Halloween" and announced that it is forbidden to advertise and sell any kind of merchandise or item related to this event in restaurants and cafes. The purpose of applying these restrictions is to maintain order and social security. The Chamber of Guilds of Iran emphasized that if the said instructions are ignored, the offending units will be signed and legal measures will be taken against them. The 14th government spokesman previously said about the celebration of "Halloween" by the Iranian people that instead of such celebrations, the focus should be on Iran's national and religious ceremonies.
