The Revolutionary Guards claimed the explosion of three oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz; Oman rescued 25 sailors of a ship.
The Revolutionary Guards Navy claimed that three oil tankers caught fire and exploded in the Strait of Hormuz while passing through "unauthorized" roads. At the same time, Oman announced the rescue of 25 crew members of a commercial ship that caught fire near the coast.
On Friday, November 8, the Revolutionary Guards Navy announced in a statement that three oil tankers had an accident while trying to cross the "unauthorized" lanes in the Strait of Hormuz.
According to this statement, one of the oil tankers carrying two million barrels of crude oil was hit by a sea mine.
Meanwhile, the U.S. military's Central Command, CENTCOM, has repeatedly denied Iran's claims of ships encountering naval mines while transiting the Strait of Hormuz, calling the reports false.
The IRGC Navy also claimed to have destroyed an American drone in the eastern part of the Strait of Hormuz. The US military has yet to respond to this report.
At the same time, Oman's Maritime Security Center announced that the Royal Navy of this country evacuated 25 crew members of a Panamanian-flagged commercial ship that was targeted and caught fire off the coast of Ras Musandam.
According to this center, the ship was aimed at a distance of 1.6 nautical miles from the shores of Masandam and the rescue operation was carried out in coordination with the Center for Maritime Security.
The Omani authorities announced that the necessary medical services were provided to the ship's crew, but did not release further details about the type of ground attack, its cause or the condition of the ship.
🔸 It is still unclear whether the incident reported off the coast of Oman has anything to do with the three oil tankers where the Revolutionary Guards reported fires and explosions.
