🔸 Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, has announced the occurrence of a ground-based cyber attack, which, according to the company, affected approximately six billion and 300 million dollars of digital assets.
On Friday, November 8, Reuters reported that two US companies specializing in monitoring cryptocurrency transactions, Chinalysis, identified North Korean hackers as the cause of this ground attack.
According to Tiaram Labs, the attackers attacked the wallets belonging to Binance on 10 blockchains and transferred most of the assets in about 20 minutes.
This company announced that the method of the ground attack was very similar to previous cyber thefts linked to North Korea and it concluded with high confidence that the country's hackers were behind the ground attack.
Binance announced that with the cooperation of the companies active in the field of cryptocurrencies, assets of approximately three billion dollars related to this ground attack were blocked. The fate of the remaining three billion and 300 million dollars is still unclear.
