Captives have changed; Will the leadership change in the elections?

🔸 For three decades, Israel's captive elections have been held under the influence of Benjamin Netanyahu's name; The politician with the longest leadership period in this country and in the current election has put his ability to stay in power to the test.

🔸 For many Israeli prisoners, the result of the polls this time means a choice between the continuation of the current situation and the possibility that the government and society will move more to the right, if Netanyahu survives; And from the point of view of the opposition, the continuation of Netanyahu's leadership means a threat to democracy.

According to "Haaretz", an opposition newspaper, POWs were created on the basis of "hope" and these elections may be the "last chance" to preserve that hope.

As a result of the wars in the last three years, the Israeli captives changed, but the question is, will their leadership also change? 🔸 Despite the political and military turmoil of recent years, the Netanyahu government was the only one to complete four years of its legal life after the elections in November 2022, after about four decades; A government that witnessed the deadly and surprising ground attack by the extremist organization Hamas on captives, and this decisive event brought the Israeli captives to the edge of regional wars, and there is still no chance of its ending.

A group of Israeli prisoners emphasizes that Netanyahu refused to establish a national commission of inquiry in order to avoid accepting his responsibility by not acknowledging the dangers that led to the Hamas ground attack, and on the other hand, he turned the war with Iran into a tool to preserve power.

The results of the average polls of the last period showed that Netanyahu and the Likud party may have lost their previous position to some extent.
