The United Arab Emirates has announced that all Ras Al Khaimah beaches are closed until further notice. This decision was made a day after the approval of an oil leak from an oil tanker in the waters of the Persian Gulf and the closure of the beaches of Amalkibin and part of Sharjah.

The Ras Al Khaimah Public Services Department, in a statement issued on Saturday, November 2, asked citizens and tourists to refrain from going to the beaches until further notice. This department did not announce the reason for the closure of the beaches.

The UAE's Ministry of Climate Change and Environment confirmed on Friday that an oil spill from an oil tanker off the coast of Amelkiwin has caused water pollution in that area.

Following this incident, all Amalqibin beaches and Alhamaria beach in Sharjah were closed, and the operation to control pollution and clean up the coastal areas began.

🔸 According to Reuters, a maritime security expert identified the Riva No. 2 oil tanker as the possible cause of the oil leak. On October 9, this tanker was hit by unknown projectiles and caught fire. The UAE authorities have not yet officially announced the name of the oil tanker causing the pollution or the cause of the oil spill.
