At a meeting of eight European and regional countries in Istanbul, the foreign ministers of Turkey and France once again warned against the consequences of a military attack on Iran and emphasized the need to resolve the crisis through diplomacy.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan also said after this meeting that the participating countries agree that any new attack on Iran will expand the war in the region.

He added: "Military intervention in Iran is not a solution at all, and no one agrees with it at the moment."

The Turkish foreign minister said that diplomacy and negotiations are the only way to end the war, and the participants of the Istanbul meeting discussed ways to prevent further spread of conflicts.

Jean-Noel Barro, the French foreign minister, also warned that the re-escalation of the conflict between Iran and the US "will have no brands" and will probably have very serious consequences for the price of oil and other energy issues. According to him, the eight participating countries want maximum restraint from both sides, because the region cannot bear a further escalation of conflicts.
