Macron announced the widespread restriction of holding intercept meetings in France.

🔸 French President Emmanuel Macron announced on Thursday, October 22, that following the riots and looting of stores in recent days, holding intercept meetings in this country will face extensive restrictions.

After a meeting with senior security officials, Mr. Macron said in the coming days, gatherings not organized by trade unions will be banned as much as the law allows.

He added that union marches may also be directed to other counties to protect town centers, shops and public buildings.

🔸 The French president blamed the organized groups of the extreme left for some of the violence last Saturday and said that their goal is to "overthrow the republic".

This decision is made on the threshold of a new round of interceptions to raise the cost of living. Local authorities in Lyon banned all gatherings planned for Saturday. Last Saturday, France witnessed one of the most intense waves of street violence in recent years. During these riots, protesters clashed with the police and several shops were looted and public buildings were destroyed.
