The American Embassy in Riyadh announced on Monday, October 12, that several American citizens were arrested for filming the deadly attacks of the Houthis in Yemen on Saudi Arabia. The US embassy announced that "American citizens have been arrested for filming recent events", but did not specify how many people were arrested and whether or not they were released. The embassy mentioned that the Saudi authorities warned that "photographing, posting or sharing information related to missile and UAV defense and their impact locations exposes you to legal liability". Some foreigners living in Riyadh told AFP that their acquaintances were arrested for taking pictures of recent events and posting photos on social networks.
