Saeed Montzerol-Mahdi, a spokesman for Farajah, the Islamic Republic's police command, says the "terrorist team linked to the recent assassinations" has been destroyed in Iran's eastern Sistan and Balochistan province. In the past two weeks, there has hardly been a day without clashes and armed attacks in Sistan and Balochistan, attacks that in most cases have been directed against forces or law enforcement agencies of the Islamic Republic. Just in the last week, after two policemen were killed in Bampur, the police headquarters in Gulshan was attacked, the head of the Fariab prevention police was killed, and the social culture deputy of the Zahdan police was killed in a road accident. The claim of Farja's spokesman is related to these events, because this police official called them "terror" and their perpetrators "terrorists". Said Muntazar al-Mahdi, without specifying the names and identities of those arrested in this context, said that "members of a terrorist team connected to the recent assassinations have been identified and arrested." He continued: "The detainees admitted to being in contact with the Jishal-Zalem group, and during the inspection of the places under their jurisdiction, a quantity of weapons and ammunition was discovered and confiscated."
