While the interception of high school students in France continued, the issue of the "acts of violence" both by the police and by the protesters became the central theme of these demonstrations and even overshadowed the demands of the protesters.

The reflection of this violence in the political arena shows the extreme fragmentation of French society and while the government defends the functioning of the police during these interceptions, the two opposition factions, the left and the right, each have a completely opposite perception and interpretation of the violent events.

According to government statistics, 215 students and more than 700 police officers were injured in these interceptions.

Also, a total of more than five thousand demonstrators were taken to police stations for temporary detention.

Fabian Joubert, director of research at the French National Center for Scientific Research, believes that the police response to the interception of high school students is excessive and disproportionate. He told a French publication that this situation is partly the result of the militarization of the police over the past twenty years and the equipping of officers with tools to suppress urban violence.
