The Instagram page of Mustafa Maharain, a sociologist and former university professor, announced on Saturday, Mehr 18, that he was arrested and transferred to prison to serve the prison sentence issued by the court.
Mr. Mehrain was arrested on June 25 last year, two days after the ground attack on captives in Iran. He was tried for publishing his open letters to the former leader of the Salami Republic.
At the Revolutionary Court he was sentenced to a total of eight years of penal servitude and additional punishments, however, according to the regulations related to the consolidation of punishments, it was announced that five years of imprisonment could be enforced as a severe punishment.
