In a recent report, the Wall Street Journal, citing an internal Binance document, wrote that a network linked to Babak Zanjani, using accounts on this cryptocurrency exchange, transferred at least $67 million to digital wallets identified by the Department of Defense as captives associated with the Revolutionary Guards.
This newspaper says that the 80-page Binance report, prepared in April of this year in response to a request from the United Arab Emirates' Financial Intelligence Unit, examined 21 accounts belonging to individuals and companies that US officials and Binance investigators deemed to be part of the Zanjani network.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Sohrab Aymohamedov, a business partner of Tajik Zanjani, whom Binance considered a "valued" client, received more than $10 million from wallets later attributed to the Revolutionary Guards.
🔸 Binance inspectors also found that the account of cryptocurrency company Zedcex, which is associated with this network, was opened many times from Tehran. 🔸 Binance announced that it blocked accounts related to sanctions violations and deleted the last accounts of this network in May of this year.
