The cultural and social deputy of the police was killed in Zahedan
Following militant armed clashes in various parts of Sistan and Balochistan province, reports indicate that Nusrat Aftakari, the cultural and social deputy of the police command in that province, has been killed.
Fars and Tasnim news agencies, both affiliated with the Revolutionary Guards, published this news on Friday, October 17.
🔸 These news agencies wrote, quoting Farja's spokesman, that Mrs. Iftakhari was killed "as a result of an assassination operation in the direction of the pilgrimage spring of Ziarat in Zahadan."
The Fars news agency, citing an unnamed informed source, wrote that Aftakari was killed "during a roadside bomb explosion in the path of the police car" in Zahedan.
Tasnim also wrote that the cultural and social deputy of the Sistan and Balochistan Police Command was sent "to solve the problems of marginalized peoples".
According to these reports, the main perpetrator of the attack was killed while fleeing.
Earlier Fars wrote that the initial news was about the injury of several policemen in this incident. Halush news base, which covers Baloch news in Iran, also wrote that after this incident military and security forces were sent to the area and received reports of shootings and violent clashes in the area.
In recent weeks, various parts of Sistan and Baluchistan province have been the scene of clashes and attacks on police stations or patrol vehicles.
Following armed militant attacks on Iranian security and law enforcement officials in the southeastern regions, media outlets in Iran reported that the head of the preventive police of the city of Faryab in Kerman province was also killed on Thursday evening, October 16, as a result of armed gunfire.
