British anti-assassination police say the investigation into two men from Latvia, who were arrested near a Royal Air Force base in the early hours of Thursday, October 16, is continuing.

According to the police statement, these two men were initially arrested on suspicion of unauthorized entry into a restricted area near a base in Cambridgeshire, and criminal destruction of property, but then, based on the British National Security Act, which was approved in 2023, they were charged with committing a crime under the heading of "entering a restricted area with the intent to harm the United Kingdom again".

The British police statement against the assassination stated that searches were conducted at two locations in Peterborough in connection with the arrest of these two men.

In this statement, Helen Flanagan, the head of the British anti-assassination police, said, while emphasizing the vigilance of this force regarding the increase in the level of concern and warning about military installations, that no signs have yet been obtained indicating the connection of these detainees with the incident related to the Fairford air base.
