The Israeli POW series "Fauda", which has a large audience among Iranians, has since 2016 become one of the most well-known POW TV productions in the world, with narration of the use of the special powers of the Israeli POWs entering Palestinian society under cover.
From the beginning, this collection was inspired by real events and the activities of the so-called "Arab-Naama Unit" in the captivity of the Israeli army and police; Forces that control the Palestinian language and culture and circulate among Palestinians with false identities to carry out intelligence and operational missions.
But the new season of "Fauda" is more than ever connected to a real event and very close to its creators; The ground attack on October 7, 2023 by the extremist organization Hamas in the southern captivity of Israel and the war that started in Gaza afterwards. In the ground attack on October 7, which is the third anniversary today, approximately 1,200 people and 251 hostages were killed in Israel, and as a result, Israel's war in Gaza began, in which, in addition to the extensive destruction, more than 73,000 people were killed, according to the Palestinian authorities.
Avi Iskarov, a journalist and one of the two creators of the "Fauda" series, told Reuters that this season was more special for him and his colleagues than all the previous seasons, because one of the production team was killed during military service in Gaza and another person was injured.
