Marco Rubio, the US Secretary of State, says Iran has missed several opportunities to reach an agreement with the United States on its nuclear program.

Marco Rubio, the US Secretary of State, says Iran has missed several opportunities to reach an agreement with the United States on its nuclear program.

On Wednesday, October 15, at a joint press conference with his Greek counterpart in Athens, he said: "Iran missed many opportunities to reach a nuclear agreement with the United States and continues to spend the money on assassinations, weapons and Hezbollah."

Rubio also said that Iran is now facing a collapsing economy and new sanctions, and he blamed responsibility for this situation on "Rouhani, Iran's radical Shiite ruler."

According to him, "Iran's economy is on the verge of reaching a situation that, in terms of deterioration, few countries in the world have experienced, and all of this is the result of the actions of Rouhani, the extreme Shiites who make decisions in this country. They are the ones who put the deprived people of Iran in such a situation." Also, by repeating Washington's position on preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, the US Secretary of State said that Donald Trump has destroyed the military power and much of the capability of Iran's military industries.
