🔸 Diesroth, together with Peter Hagmann and Georg Nagel, won this prize on Monday 13 Mahar for their discoveries related to light-activated ion channels and optogenetics.

🔸 Optogenetics provides the possibility to control the activity of nerve cells using light and has helped researchers understand the function of the brain. These three scientists will share the prize money of 12 million SEK.
