On Saturday, several US media outlets reported that the Pentagon is sending the aircraft carrier strike group "Theodore Roosevelt" and an amphibious marine group to the Middle East; a step that, if implemented, will increase the number of US aircraft carriers in the region to three.

🔸 The Wall Street Journal cited unnamed US officials and wrote that this deployment, along with the Makin Island amphibious group, will add between 9,000 and 10,000 additional military troops to the region. According to this newspaper, the "Theodore Roosevelt" joins the aircraft carriers "George H.W. Bush" and "George Washington" which are already in the region.
