While the American media announces the deployment of the USS Theodore Roosevelt carrier strike group and thousands of new military forces to the Middle East, US President Donald Trump described the Islamic Republic as having no navy, air force, radar, or effective air defense systems, and said its economy is in a "very bad state."

Mr. Trump said on Friday evening, October 10, at a campaign rally in Mobile, Alabama: "They have one thing they really have; it's called inflation."

He spoke again about Iran's very high inflation rate and added that the war with Iran could end "very soon, probably right after the election."

At the same time, several US media outlets reported that the United States is sending the USS Theodore Roosevelt carrier strike group and an amphibious Marine group to the Middle East; this action, if completed, will increase the number of US aircraft carriers in the region to three. The Wall Street Journal cited US officials as saying that this deployment, along with the USS Bataan amphibious ready group, will add between 9,000 and 10,000 additional military personnel to the region.
