The documentary film "Second Breath" by Muzhgan Ilanlu, a documentary maker and activist for women's rights, was screened at Charles University in Prague on Thursday evening, the 9th of March.
This 53-minute documentary, which took six years to make, discusses structural violence against women in Iran and the role of laws, political power, religious views and cultural traditions in it.
Ilanlo, who was arrested and imprisoned in recent years due to his civil activity and his support for the "Zen, Zehandi, Liberation" movement, included part of his personal experience in the narration of this documentary.
According to him, "Wife, Life, Liberation" was an example of a "second soul" for the movement of equality and civil resistance in Iran.
Mehran Karimi, a reporter for Farda Radio, spoke with Mojan Ilanlu about this film, violence against women, his experience in prison and his view on the developments of the last few years in Iran after the screening of Nafs' Second Breath.
