🔸Bloomberg, citing oil tanker tracking data and information about the Vertexa company, reported that the Gulf of Kutch in the Indian state of Gujarat has become one of the alternative points for transferring ships to Persian Gulf oil tankers.

According to this report, two supertankers have recently transferred their cargoes in this area to other very large tankers currently on their way to East Asia. At least two other oil tankers are doing the same thing.

Bloomberg says that this is the first transfer of oil shipments from the Persian Gulf to the East in this region since the start of the Iran War.

Vertexa says it takes five to six days to completely transfer the cargo of one supertanker to another and this congestion has become one of the most important factors in delaying oil exports in the region.

The increase in the number of oil tankers, the delay in the transfer of cargo and the lengthening of the routes of some ships greatly increased the cost of transporting oil. Bloomberg says the cost of chartering a supertanker now exceeds $1 million a day.
