The upward trend in foreign exchange prices in Iran's open market continued on Wednesday, October 7, and the price of each US dollar reached a new high of more than 256,000 tomans.
🔸 The report of the websites announcing the current exchange rate of the currency and gold showed that the price of the euro, the single currency of the European Union, was more than 290 thousand tomans and the price of each dirham of the United Arab Emirates was more than 70 thousand tomans in the middle hours of Wednesday.
🔸 The price of the so-called Imami gold coin was announced with a new record of 261 million tomans.
The increase in the price of foreign currencies continued while on Wednesday morning the Central Bank of the Republic of Salami informed the market of the "planning of the supply of two billion dollar notes" through the release of a statement.
In this statement it was stated that the process of selling this amount of currency has begun and in the first phase an amount of one billion dollars will be offered through selected branches of banks and bank exchanges throughout the country. The decline in the value of Iran's national currency increased in recent weeks with the start of the American economic pressure program known as "Operation Economic Exclusion" and the continuation of the naval blockade.
