The United Arab Emirates and the captives confirmed the meeting between Netanyahu and Sheikh Mohammed Zayed in Abu Dhabi
The office of Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, and the State News Agency of the United Arab Emirates confirmed the meeting between the leaders of the two countries in the United Arab Emirates.
🔸Prime Minister of the POWs Sail traveled to the United Arab Emirates on Sunday, Thursday, and met with the country's president, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed. Both countries confirmed it one day after this meeting.
🔸 Netanyahu had no official and public approval trips to the United Arab Emirates before. However, the United Arab Emirates is one of the first Arab countries to join the Ibrahim agreement brokered by Donald Trump on September 25, 2019 in order to normalize relations with Israeli prisoners.
A captive Israeli source familiar with Netanyahu's visit to the United Arab Emirates told CNN on Sunday that the secret meeting focused primarily on Iran.
🔸 Three captive Israeli sources who were provided with this trip also told Reuters that the meeting between the leaders of the two countries lasted six hours. The UAE's state news agency, WAM, confirmed that Sheikh Mohammed and Netanyahu met in the UAE on Sunday. According to this report, the two leaders discussed "bilateral relations between the United Arab Emirates and the captives of Israel and ways to strengthen and develop these relations."
The Prime Minister's office also announced that this meeting focuses on "strengthening relations between the two countries and regional challenges." According to Netanyahu's office, the prime minister's wife, the head of the National Assembly, the head of the Mossad, his military secretary and his political advisor were also present on the trip.
