Excerpts from the statements of the Iranian president in an interview with CBS News on the sidelines of the UN meeting in New York:

Masoud Pezeshkian announced the formation of a six-member team in the presence of representatives from security institutions, parliament, and the government, which he said consults on important government decisions.

Mr. Pezeshkian said that he met twice with Mojtaba Khamenei, the new leader of the Islamic Republic, and one of these meetings lasted more than seven hours.

In response to a question about the suppression of Dima's interceptions, the Iranian president claimed again that armed individuals were present among the protesters and that their goal was a "coup"—a term used by Ali Khamenei to describe Dima's interceptions. 🔸 Pezeshkian said regarding the possibility of releasing two American citizens imprisoned in Iran, including Reza Valizadeh, a former reporter for Radio Farda, whether their release can truly restore trust between the two countries?

In response to a question about whether Tehran will now allow inspectors to enter, the Iranian president answered affirmatively, but said that the method of conducting inspections must be agreed upon in negotiations, and in the current situation Iran does not allow the resumption of inspections based on previous arrangements.
