This call was made at the same time as the Houthis continued their attacks in Yemen against the positions of the official government forces of this country.

Two sources told Reuters that in this interview, the head of the Presidential Leadership Council in Yemen asked for US military assistance in dealing with the Iran-backed Houthis, but Donald Trump did not commit to this.

Earlier, the New York Times reported that the US government was preparing to carry out airstrikes against the Houthis on Sunday, following a new demand from the Saudi crown prince, but Trump ordered those strikes to be canceled at the last minute, even while the forces were loading the planes with bombs.
