Luxembourg Airport flights were temporarily suspended on the evening of Friday, September 27, and during that time, 19 flights were diverted to other airports. Operations at the airport resumed around 1:20 a.m. Saturday morning.

The Prime Minister of Luxembourg said that his country has been dealing with "new phenomena" in recent days and drones, which were apparently larger than usual, were seen in the country's airspace.

The Luxembourg government says that no final conclusion can yet be reached about the origin or nature of these drones, and investigations are ongoing with the cooperation of international partners.

This incident occurred as several European countries grappled with the arrival or sighting of unknown drones around airports and sensitive infrastructure in recent weeks.
