In a video released by U.S. Central Command, Mr. Cooper said, U.S. forces have helped more than 2,000 commercial ships pass through the Strait of Hormuz with "coordinated protection" and the main shipping lanes in that strait have also been cleared of mines.

The Centcom commander also said that the volume of crude oil, commercial cargo and liquid natural gas that passed through the Strait of Hormuz in the last two weeks was higher than at any other time in the last six months. According to him, the US, in cooperation with the six member states of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council and the insurance and shipping companies, is trying to increase the volume of traffic on this route, and at the same time it is working with the countries of the region to strengthen air defense and establish a new coalition unit to deal with attack drones.
