🔸 The Archaeological Association of Iran, on behalf of Masoud Pazhkian, the president, demanded immediate action to protect Persepolis and prevent the destruction of the country's cultural heritage.

The ISNA news agency reported on Wednesday, September 25, that this organization, referring to the plan to annex about 160 dunams of protection from the second level of Persepolis to the borders of the city of Marvdasht, warned that this action would bring Marvdasht's development path closer to the ancient Turquoise Hills, the Maidan of Nations and the historical area.

🔸 This letter also warns that the implementation of this plan will increase the value of the land and provide a basis for speculation and pressure on the privacy of this world heritage.

🔸 The director general of Fars district's cultural heritage said earlier that this plan has been stopped and is under review.

However, the Archaeological Association of Iran considered the "contradiction" between the published reports and confirmations and the statements of the CEO of Fars Heritage on the suspension of the project as a reason for the immediate intervention of the presidential institution, clarification of the decision-making process and public publication of relevant documents.
