Why Personal Income Tax Appeared in Tax Notices This year, more people than recently encountered the Personal Income Tax section in their tax notices. The head of the counter control department of personal income tax and insurance premiums of the Ministry of the Federal Tax Service of Russia for the Republic of Crimea, Alexander Korolev, said that for 2025 a new section was introduced to the consolidated notice, in which the Ministry of Taxation independently recalculates income and calculates tax. "This year for 2025, due to the fact that the list of incomes on which the tax assessor independently calculates the tax and includes it in the consolidated tax notice has expanded, the circle of people who have already received this tax notice has expanded," Korolev said. According to him, the main innovation is the calculation of personal income tax on a progressive scale. It is valid from January 1, 2025 and includes five rates: 13% for income up to 2.4 million rubles, 15% - from 2.4 to 5 million, 18% - from 5 to 20 million, 20% - from 20 to 50 million and 22% - over 50 million. He also explained why some citizens have an additional amount of tax to pay: an individual can receive income from several tax agents, and each of them does not know about the others, applying a progressive scale independently. The tax authority, after collecting all the revenues, sums them up and recalculates them at a single rate - hence the levy. Listen to the broadcast of "Radio Crimea".
