compassion
The Buddha said that there can be no awareness without compassion, just as there can be no compassion without awareness. Compassion is the inner side of mindfulness.
After becoming enlightened, Buddha went home. His father was angry! All this time he kept his feelings, and now the moment has come to throw them out. He started insulting his son, saying: "Why did you come now, after 12 years? You were a "deep wound" for me. You almost killed me! I waited so long! You were not my son, you were my enemy!
This went on for a long time, the Buddha was silent, there was great love and compassion in his eyes. "Why are you silent?" - The father caught himself.
Buddha said:
- First, express everything you yourself have accumulated over 12 years. Take your soul! Only then will you understand me. I want to tell you one thing: you are talking to someone else, not to me. The man who left your house many years ago has not returned. He's dead! I am a whole new person. But first, take your soul, your eyes are so full of anger you can't even see me.
Gradually the father cooled down, he wiped his tears and began to look at his son with interest. "Yes, it's a different person. Of course, the face and figure are the same, but he is not familiar to me, he is a completely new creature," he thought to himself. He said:
- You changed. I want to taste what you tasted. Death is coming, I am very old. Initiate me into the secret! Forgive me for my anger. good you came
