S&P Global's Russian manufacturing PMI rose to 49.9 in October from 49.8 in September, but is still below the key 50-point mark that separates growth from contraction.
Many observers see the value of this index as almost a crisis.
But now it is more likely that it will be the norm for the medium term. The average value of the Russian manufacturing PMI from 2011 to 2026 is 50.28 points.
The maximum index of business activity in the Russian manufacturing sector was reached in March 2024 and amounted to 55.70 points - and this was an anomaly, a huge overheating in the industry.
