JTI's Russian business has been partially placed into interim management.
Vladimir Putin transferred part of the business of one of the largest tobacco manufacturers, JTI, to temporary management. Control over four companies with a turnover of over 90 billion rubles was obtained by the structure of the founder of Baltika, Taimurz Bolyev.
But apparently we're not talking about a sale yet. Competitors probably won't buy the company because of reputational losses, and the risk of lower excise taxes will prevent the authorities from taking drastic measures.
