The rate of growth in sales of drugs with semaglutide - analogues of the popular "Ozampi", used for weight loss - is slowing in Russia, according to data from the DSM group, reviewed by Kommersant. According to analysts, in January-September 2026, pharmacies across the country sold 6.3 million packages worth 31.3 billion rubles, a year-on-year increase of 71% and 53% respectively. However, in the third quarter, sales growth in monetary terms amounted to 38%, while in the first quarter it reached 77%. Against a background of slowing demand, manufacturers are looking for new indications for their drugs. In particular, Gerofram has received approval for use in the inflammatory form of fatty liver disease. There are other possible niches for semaglutide manufacturers: for example, drugs with it are being studied for heart failure, chronic kidney disease and obstructive sleep apnea.
